Stuart Townend

A great night had by all at 'An Evening with Stuart Townend' last weekend.  The church took a (fairly safe) punt and booked him and we were chuffed to sell out the 300 odd tickets in a local school hall.  Stuart was so easy to work with and the performance was brilliant.  In reviewing the evening we really don't think it could have gone any better.  The only thing we got wrong was to order too many biscuits and that's a very solvable problem!

I enjoyed the opportunity to photograph him while he did his thing and as well as these pictures, there are more (including some terrific shots taken by my friend Mark) here.   If you ever get the opportunity to go to one of these evenings, take it!

Townend in Town

Huge excitement today as I can reveal that the church has booked Stuart Townend to come to play at the local school in April.  This is a major event for us, we are a small church of around 70 and Stuart Townend has a worldwide following.  His best known hymn is probably, "In Christ Alone" and so it seemed only right to wordle it to celebrate.  I like the way it looks a little like a tree.  Can't wait for the event, very excited!

Vagabonds

Not sure how I missed it but last year Stuart Townend released his album 'The Journey', and a fine listen it is too.  I already knew and loved a few of the songs, but the one that really did it for me this morning was the wonderful 'Vagabonds'.  Great track which should be played loud, preferably in a car so you can sing along without being stared at.  Or alternatively dig out your penny whistles and join in.  Click the link in the long-neglected, top right hand corner of the blog; 'Our Friends Eclectic' and turn up the speakers.  Enjoy! 

MiracleMaker - In Christ Alone

Had a minor crisis yesterday (one of a series) when all the videos disappeared from the database of the computer we use for projection in the church building. So I've been hunting round for stray copies of things and lo and behold found this. Hardly remember doing this four years ago and then showed it once in a service. Since then it's laid forgotten and neglected on a hard drive.

So, time to let it fly (or flop) on the interweb. It's a series of scenes from the film Miracle Maker together with Stuart Townend singing In Christ Alone. Very much an Easter piece rather Christmas but I was surprised at the job I did on this. Not at all shabby.
